Stocked Parts
Pecan Acres sits six miles from our shop in Azle, and that short drive matters more than it sounds. We load the truck based on what we expect to find before we leave, and Pecan Acres is one of the newer pockets we cover - the median year built here is 2003, a good decade and a half past the 1991 median for the wider service area. That means standard 7-foot sectional openings, modern torsion spring mounts, and opener brackets built to codes that hadn't been written yet when a lot of the older housing stock around us went up. We carry current-production steel and insulated panel doors sized for that era on every install run out this way, along with the matching torsion springs and standard-lift track hardware. What we don't stock on the truck are the oddball sizes some of the 1950s-60s era homes elsewhere in the area need - custom width openings or obsolete extension spring brackets. If your house falls outside the 2003 norm for this pocket, say so when you call so we bring the right parts the first trip instead of the second.
How It Shows Up
A door that's 15-20 years old, which is what you'd expect on a Pecan Acres build year, usually isn't failing from age the way an original 1980s door would. It's failing from wear on parts that were never top-tier to start: a builder-grade opener motor, rollers that were plastic from day one, a spring rated for the minimum cycle count. The moderate heat band this area sits in doesn't crack panels or warp track the way harsher climates do, but it does dry out lubrication and stiffen weatherstripping faster than owners expect. The failure that pushes most people from repair to replace here is less often a broken spring and more often an opener that's died alongside a door that's cosmetically dated and worth upgrading rather than patching again.
Getting It Booked In
We travel from Azle to Pecan Acres for every job - there's no local branch or drop point out here, so your install gets scheduled around the drive like any other out-of-Azle call. With only 1,369 households in Pecan Acres, we're not running back and forth on this route daily the way we might in a denser part of the service area, so it helps to lock a date rather than assume next-day availability. Give us the opener brand if you have one and whether you want it swapped or kept - that one detail changes what's on the truck when we head out.
How Long It Takes
A straight sectional door swap on a standard 2000s-era opening, the kind common in Pecan Acres, usually runs a few hours once we're on site - most of that is removing the old door and track, not hanging the new one. Add an opener replacement and you're adding on top of that. Factor in the drive each direction since we're not based in Pecan Acres itself; it doesn't change the job time, but it does change when we can realistically start and finish in your driveway.
